Obituary

Raymond Stanley "Stan" Evans, Jr., 73, of Salisbury, died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

He was born in Crisfield on October 8, 1949, and was a son of the late Raymond Stanley "Stan" Evans, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Middleton Evans.

A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1967, he was an owner of Jessie Taylor Seafood in Washington, DC.

Stan attended Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, Delaware and was a long time member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury, Maryland. Stan was also a member of the Salisbury Gun Club. Stan's favorite hobbies were fishing, boating, traveling, long drives exploring the peninsula with his wife and spending time with his children and grandsons. Stan loved eating with his after church lunch crew, Leonard, Pat, Carl, Joyce and his beloved wife, Cathy. Stan was an incredibly generous man with an endless capacity for fun and mischief. He loved his family and he was adored by them in return. To know Stan was to love him. He was a treasure to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cathy Elizabeth Evans of Salisbury; his son, Ryan Evans and wife Leah of Salisbury; step-sons, Evan Rogers and wife Laura and their children Jack and Shepard, of Laurel, DE and Christopher Rogers of Santa Barbara, CA; siblings, Jan Zollinhofer and husband Henry of Lexington Park, MD, Carol Kiser and husband Arlie of Hebron, and Clayton Evans and wife Mia of Salisbury; niece, Jackie Elkins and husband Charley of Eldersburg, MD and Stan Kiser and wife Melissa of Salisbury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond A. and Hattie B. Evans and "Ma Willie" and "Pa Clayte" Middleton; and his wife, Mary Theresa Evans.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 11 AM at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, DE. The Rev. Rick Betts will officiate and will be assisted by The Rev. Carl Vincent and The Rev. Tom Bunting. Interment will be private.

Viewings will be Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home and one hour prior to service on Thursday.

There will be a special boat, (Island Belle), for funeral passengers from Smith Island that will depart Wednesday evening from Ewell at 5:00 PM and proceed to Tylerton, and Crisfield and will return following the viewing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
