Obituary

Raymond Huey Durham, 89, of Crisfield and formerly of Mt. Vernon, MD and New Jersey, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home.

Born at home in Deepwater, New Jersey on September 18, 1927, he was a son of the late Enoch Miller Durham and Geneva Margaret Cuff Durham. His wife, Donna Mae Westmark Durham died April 1, 1998. He moved from New Jersey to Mt. Vernon in 1982, and had been making his home in Crisfield for the past three years.

He was a porter for Anchor Hocking Glassworks in Salem, New Jersey working 35 years before his retirement.

A craftsman, he loved woodworking, boat building, decoy carving, and even built his own home in New Jersey. He also enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and oil painting.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond E. Durham of Crisfield and Jon E. Durham of Dagsboro, Delaware; a brother, Paul Durham of Milton, Delaware; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Debbie Durham Arnone and six brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church in Dagsboro where the family will receive friends one hour prior. Pastor Susan Sliker will officiate.
