Randall "Tucker" Sterling, 80, of Crisfield, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on March 16, 1933, he was a son of the late James T. and Lillian Armistead Sterling.
Randall lived a life of service; first in the US Army and later in the National Guard. He was a life member of the Crisfield Fire Department with over 30 years of active service. He was also a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield.
He earned his electrician's license in the early 1960's and boat captain's license in the mid 1970's. Before his retirement, he worked for Mrohs Gas of Crisfield.
Randall enjoyed bowling, golfing and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed the fellowship and coffee at Gordon's Confectionery in Crisfield.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 57 years, Shirley Tyler Sterling and his beloved daughter, Tempie Bishop Bonaparte, both of Crisfield; a grandson, Jeremy Bishop(Anna); two great-grandsons, Isaiah and Cooper Bishop of Crisfield; a brother, Michael P. Sterling and wife Jan of Crisfield; a sister, Bessie Killman of Charlotte, NC; and very special nieces and nephews, Danielle Crockett and husband Shawn of Gloucester, VA, Terri Sterling Baylis of Greenbackville, VA, Edwin Sterling, Jr. of Crisfield, David J. Sterling of Arlington, VA, and Michael Brian Sterling of Princess Anne. Randall is also survived by a few other nieces and nephews, countless friends, and his dog and couch companion, Jasper.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Preston "Teensy" Sterling, Edwin C. Sterling and James T. Sterling, Jr.; a sister, Eva Evans Chapman; and a nephew, Steven Sterling.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Todd Hurley and Rev. Bob Daniels officiating.
