Ralph A. Swift, 92, of Salisbury, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from Salisbury Center Genesis.

Born in Baltimore MD, he was the son of the late Henry and Lillian Swift. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C. Camp) and the U.S Army during WWII. During his career, he worked for the Somerset County Roads, Winton Gouge Hatchery, and Earl Warwick, retiring in 2002. Ralph was an active member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury for 24 years, where he served as an usher.

Mr. Swift, known affectionately to many as "Pop", leaves behind his beloved wife Frances (Fran) Swift, to whom he was married nearly 27 years. He is survived by a brother, Steve Swift and his wife Harriet, the last remaining of 22 siblings. He is also survived by seven of his children, Jerry Swift and his wife Betty, Wayne Swift, Mary McCready, Doug Swift, Gail Dorman and her husband Dee, Patricia Baxter, and Bonnie Flynn. He is also survived by three stepsons, Jim Prouse and his wife Dawn, George Prouse and his wife Esther, and Howard Prouse and his wife Kay. Mr Swift had eleven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and his siblings, he was predeceased by an eighth child, Ralph E. Swift.

A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury, MD on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11 AM where a viewing will be one hour prior. Rev. Tom Bunting will officiate. Interment will immediately follow the service at Wicomico Memorial Park.

Family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
