Priscilla Bea Ward, 79, of Westover, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Rehobeth, MD on August 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Chloe Kreider Mahan. Her husband, Richard B. "Dicky" Ward, preceded her in death on October 11, 2008.
A graduate of Marion High School, she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Wor-Wic Community College. She worked with Coastal Hospice and was a home health caregiver for the elderly.
She was a member of the Green Hill Church of the Brethren in Westover where she taught Sunday School and was song leader for many years. She also attended the Somerset Free Methodist Church in Crisfield with her husband, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She enjoyed singing and entertaining with "The Late Bloomers" Quartet, ministering to numerous nursing homes in the area. She also was an avid bowler and enjoyed crafting, especially chair caning.
She is survived by her son, Michael Lambertson, Sr. and wife Terry of Westover; four sisters, Martha Schrock (Cecil), Doreen Bishop, and Katherine Riggin, all of Westover, and Patricia Bucher of Pennsylvania; one brother, Daniel Mahan (Pat) of Princess Anne; two grandchildren, Michael Lamberston (Leslie) of Ohio and Joshua Lambertson (Heather) of Westover; four great-grandchildren, Bethany, Haley, Colin, and Lauren Lambertson; one step-grandchild, Georja Sorensen and her daughter Willow-Ann of Westover; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Grant, Donald, and Phillip Mahan; and two sisters, Lillus Nelson, and Dorothy Mahan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1 PM at Green Hill Church of the Brethren in the Fellowship Hall where a viewing will be from noon until service time. Her nephew, Steven Bishop, will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
