PRESTON H. SCOTT, SR., 87, of Crisfield, and formerly of Salisbury, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield. He had been a resident of the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield for the past eight years.

Born in Crisfield on April 6, 1919, he was a son of the late Marvin Scott and the late Helen Sterling Scott Northam. His wife of 60 years, Louella Mae Beasley Scott, died October 20, 2002.

A United States Army veteran who served during World War II, Mr. Scott was the owner of the former Preston H. Scott Janitorial Service in Salisbury from which he retired. Prior, he worked for the former Star Baking Company in Crisfield and was a poultry grower for many years.

A beloved father and grandfather, he is survived by two sons, Preston Scott, Jr. and his wife Janice and Brian Scott and his wife Sue, all of Salisbury; a daughter, Karen L. Barnes of Crisfield; six grandchildren, Michael Scott and his wife Jennifer of Salisbury, Elizabeth Windsor and her husband Rob of Allen, Katy Scott of Eden, Ernest Joseph Barnes of Fruitland, Rachel Barnes of Virginia and Sarah Barnes of Baltimore; three great-grandsons, Colin Windsor, Brandon Windsor and Jonathon Scott; four brothers, Richard Scott, Eddie Scott, Denny Scott and Joe Lee Scott; three sisters, Mary Lou Hall, Mary Ellen English and Barbara Holler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, father and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold Scott, Bill Scott, Lake Scott and Marvin Scott; and one sister, Helen Northam.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield.
