Obituary

PRESTON LEE "COOL BREEZE" CROCKETT, 63, of Crisfield, died Friday, August 7, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Nassawaddox, Virginia on June 16, 1946, he was a son of the late Charles Crockett and Amanda Jane Parks. He was raised on Tangier Island, Virginia, and had been making his home in Crisfield for the past 27 years.

He was a former owner of the former Charlie's Cab in Crisfield and also worked for the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchens. He was currently employed as a machinist at Rubberset Corporation in Crisfield.

A member of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, he was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a big jokester who loved to tease and was loved by all who knew him. He loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shirley Crockett of Crisfield; his daughter, Lee Ann Linton and husband Jason "J.J." of Crisfield; his granddaughter, Jenna Marie Linton of Crisfield; a niece, Carla M. Ford and husband James of Crisfield; a nephew, Harry N. Crockett, Jr. of Eastville, Virginia; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews cousins, and a host of friends.

Along with his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Lewis "Spike" Parks, who raised him since he was a baby; and a brother, Harry N. Crockett, Sr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bonnie Martin will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817; Tawes Nursing Home Building Fund or Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817; or to the "Cool Breeze" Benefit to be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 4 PM Linton's Seafood.
