Phyllis Faye Saltz, 65, of Crisfield, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home.
Born in Crisfield November 22, 1955, she was a daughter of the late William C. "Bill" and Helen Faye Ward Saltz.
She was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1973 and graduated from the former Peninsula General Hospital Certified Laboratory Assistants Program in 1974. She had worked in the medical field her entire life as laboratory and veterinary assistants. Most recently, she was the owner of the former Ice Cream Gallery in Crisfield.
Phyllis was an active member of Mariners U. M. Church in Crisfield where she served over the years in various capacities. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and collecting antiques but most of all her animals were her life. She leaves behind her beloved pet dogs, Rachel and Jonah and she was preceded in death by Angel, Amelia, Gabby, Leah, Itsy-Bitsy, Molly, Noah, Sarah Jo, and Hannah.
She is also survived by her sister, Rhea E. Walston of Crisfield; three nephews, Trever Coons (Dawn) of Rehobeth, Jason Coons (Alison) of Marion Station, and Jay Walston of Crisfield; two aunts, Neva Rae Howard of Marion Station and Ellen Ward of Crisfield; several great-nieces and great nephews; and several cousins.
A graveside memorial service will be Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2 PM in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Mariners U. M. Church, c/o Grace Lankford, 27785 Farm Market Road, Marion Station, MD 21838; or to a favorite animal charity.
