Phyllis M. Miley, 81, of Crisfield, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on December 5, 1943, she was raised on Smith Island and was a daughter of the late Enos Wilson Evans and Alma Marie Evans.  Her husband of 33 years, Gerald L. "Jerry" Miley, preceded her in death on July 24, 2018.

Phyllis was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1961. She loved her cats and enjoyed her Christmas décor year round.  She went to meet her Savior draped in one of her favorite Christmas blankets.

She is survived by her niece, Shelly Somers (Eddie) of Crisfield; her nephews, Lecky Tyler (Cathy) of Rhodes Point and Brad Tyler (Joy) of Shelltown; her great-nephews, Justin Somers (Katie) of Salisbury and Alex Somers (Sunny) and their sons, Theodore and Oliver, of Aiken, SC; her step-children, Jeffrey Miley of Hebron and Linda Miley of Oregon; and several cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Enos Thomas Evans in 1991; and her sister, Nancy Tyler.

A graveside memorial service will be Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park.  Pastor Jim Evans will officiate.

The family would like to thank the staff at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home for the wonderful care Phyllis received during her residency there, and to the amazing Coastal Hospice staff during her last days. Also, a special thank you to Pat Reese and to the Marion Pharmacy staff.
