Phyllis Bradley Messick, 86, of Bivalve, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Born in Riverton on August 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. and Alice Graham Bradley.  Her husband, Wilbur Turner Messick, died November 7, 2008.

A retired Postal Clerk at Bivalve Post Office, she was a member of Bivalve U. M. Church and the West Side Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two children, Wilbur "Turner" Messick, Jr. and Cheryl Messick Herbert and husband John, all of Bivalve; grandchildren, Melisa Messick and fiancé Kevin Coleman, Jr. of Salisbury, David Messick and fiancé Brandy Toomey of Bivalve, Stacy White and husband Andrew of Farmville, VA, and John Herbert, Jr. and wife Mandy of Delmar; sisters-in-law, Gretchen Grimaud of Texas and Jean Messick of Bivalve; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kevin, Addison, Rhett, Maya, Isabelle, Bethany, Rowan, Nora, Aliza, Josie, and Eden; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce.

Memorial services officiated by Rev. Zac Wheeler will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 12 Noon at Bivalve United Methodist Church where a visitation will be one hour prior.  Urn Interment will be at a later date in Bivalve Cemetery.
