Obituary

Philomena Theresa "Phyllis" Bradford, 92, of Marion, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Mongaup Valley, New York on March 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Amelia Obermeyer Brenner. Her husband, Warren Thomas Bradford, preceded her in death on May 13, 2009.

A homemaker, she worked at many places throughout the Tri-County area and will be remembered as the last owner and postmaster of the Marumsco Post Office. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover, was active in the Marion Community 4-H Club for over 30 years, and was active in many other organizations in Somerset County.

She is survived by her children, William "Bill" Bradford and wife Sonia of Guam, Mickey Bradford and wife Tammy of Florida, Anne Widmann and husband Bill of Wisconsin, Katy Shockley of Salisbury, Frank Bradford and wife Lisa of Alexandria, Virginia, Alice Bromley and husband Jack of Princess Anne, Alfred Bradford of Marion, and John Bradford of Marion; her step-mother, Mable Brenner of Connecticut; her step-sisters, Cora Lee Nuttall and Janice Veranesi; her step-brother, Robert Nuttall; nine grandchildren, Brian Bradford, Carrie White, Warren Bradford, Mika Beck, Shannon Ashley, Katie Rose Heath, Fiona Heath, Sarah Shockley, and Hannah Shockley; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her special friends, Ardena Williams, Recie Hope, Donnie and Jo Mahan, Peggy Hess, and the Smith Family.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Brenner; and one grandchild, Rachel Shockley.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father William Porter will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church where a visitation will be one hour prior. Urn interment will follow in Rehoboth Presbyterian Cemetery.
