Obituary

Phillip Dean "Phil" Marshall, 67, of Crisfield passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his home.

Born November 16, 1953, he was originally from Tylerton, MD, and was the son of the late Hazel Bradshaw Marshall and Frederick Marshall.

Phil spent many years as a waterman. He would go on to sell life insurance. He later became a correctional officer at the Eastern Correctional Institution, where he was affectionately known as "P.Diddy" by his fellow officers. He retired from E.C.I. in 2020.

Phil was an amazing craftsman. He enjoyed building birdhouses and could fix anything you gave him. He had a great love for music, especially The Beatles. He was also a wonderful singer. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cindy of Crisfield; son, Storm Marshall of Crisfield; daughter, Jody Soukup and husband Kevin of Crisfield; a very special niece, Angela Insley and wife Amber of Crisfield; six grandchildren, Devan Soukup, Noah Soukup, Skylar Marshall, Autumn Marshall, Paxton Insley, and Kadence Insley, all of Crisfield; sister, Carolyn Evans; brothers, Russell Marshall and Dallas Marshall and wife Gayle; sisters-in-law, Betty Marsh and husband Kevin, Nancy Martin and husband Chuck, and Diane Hill; brothers-in-law, Ozzie Hill and wife Mary Kaye and Danny Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Hill; brothers-in-law, John Hill and Robert Evans, and sister-in-law, Laurie Marshall.

A memorial service at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Stephen S. Willing officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
