PEGGY STERLING DAVENPORT, 50, of Easton, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at Easton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Crisfield on July 16, 1958, she was the daughter of Patsy S. Murphy of Hurlock and the late Luther R. "Skippo" Sterling who died November 17, 1964. Her husband, Lloyd C. Davenport, Jr., died in a tragic automobile accident on November 3, 2000, which also left her physically disabled. She had been a resident of The Pines in Easton for the past eight years.

She was a graduate of Crisfield High School's class of 1976, and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hurlock. Her love of God was first and foremost in her life.

She is survived by her mother and "Rad Dad", Patsy S. and Michael W. Murphy of Hurlock; a brother, Albert Byron Sterling of North Carolina; an aunt, Phyllis Clark of Crisfield; two uncles, Jerry Sterling of Crisfield and Philip Dembosky of Baltimore; four nephews, Ryan Sterling of Texas, Matthew Sterling of Marion Station, Dallas Sterling of North Carolina and Christopher Justice of Crisfield; a sister-in-law, Marge Fisher of Salisbury; a brother-in-law, Carl Davenport of Florida; and many relatives and friends.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Ray "Guzzie" Sterling who died December 7, 1996.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one half hour prior to the service. Pastor's David Talley and Matthew Sterling will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Grace Baptist Church, 510A N. Main Street, Hurlock, MD 21643.
