Peggy Evans Owens, 79, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Born in Crisfield March 27, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Louise Bradshaw Evans. Her husband of 56 years, Arza A. Owens, died March 16, 2007.
Following her career in restaurant management, she enjoyed taking care of her home, her garden, and her cats. She loved to cook, and enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends. She also loved helping others and volunteered her time at Tawes Nursing Home. She attended Mariners United Methodist Church and Marion Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Pam Owens Zywczynski, of Lancaster, NY, Cecilia Owens Hancock of Crisfield and companion Joseph White of Deal Island, and Arzie J. Owens and wife, Lisa of Salisbury; her sister Sandra Wells of Eden; six grandchildren, June Pszczolkowski and husband Rob, Lindsay Zywczynski and fiancé Rich Reger, all of Lancaster, NY, Mike Hancock, Carla Hatten and husband Andy, all of Charlotte, NC, and Chad R. Owens and wife Kelly and Catherine "Katie" Owens all of Greenville, South Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Hatten, Nicholas and Alex Pszczolkowski, April and Ashley Zywczynski, Richie Reger, and Eli Owens; her sister-in-law, Betty Bradshaw, and her family; her nieces and nephews, Keena and Kevin Morris, Jeffery and Krissy Wells, Sheila and Filmore Evans, Stevie and Joyce Evans, Missy and Lee Tyler, Milty Evans, Debbie and Ted Michael, Tina Evans, Larry Evans, Cheryl Jacobs, and Johnny and Vicky Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Evans; her sister Vivian Evans; and her sons-in-law, Lawrence "Ski" Zywczynski, and John Papa.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Joseph Barnes will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be Friday evening from 7-9. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
