Peggy J. Mason, 81, of Crisfield, died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield, MD.

Born in Crisfield on April 8, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Fletcher and Sarah Swift. Her husband, William B. Mason, Jr. preceded her in death on January 14, 1994.

A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a homemaker and a member of the Crisfield Church of God, where she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir and helped in the Women's Ministry. She also loved gardening, cooking and family gatherings.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Swift and wife Terry of Powellville, and Tommy Mason and friend, Janet Taylor of Crisfield; two siblings, Shirley Parkinson of Crisfield and Elwood Swift, Jr. of Eden; eight grandchildren, Brad Mason, April Webster, Cortney Swift, Randy Swift, Barry Williams, Matthew Burby, Amy Mason, and Ashley Mason; seven great grandchildren; eleven nieces and six nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William B. Mason, III in 2010; and a sister, Catherine Smith in 1993.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Harvey Tyler will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Church of God where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery.
