PAUL LEON MASON, SR., 75, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 8, 2007 from Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on January 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Ernest "Stump" and Mary Jeanette Landon Mason.
A United States Army veteran, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchens in Crisfield, working for more than 25 years until his retirement in 1990 when they closed.
He was a member of the Crisfield Church of God and the National AARP. He enjoyed spending time in Gordon's and being Steve Walston's "gopher" for T&S Marine in Crisfield.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jessica Ann Welch Mason of Crisfield; three children, Paula McCready (Tommy) of Crisfield, Paul Leon Mason, Jr. of Salisbury, and Timothy James Mason (Marlene) of Orange County, California; one step-daughter, Sherrie Ennis (Doug Lewis) of Marion Station; four grandchildren, Ryan McCready (Erin) of Princess Anne, Bailey James Mason of California, Charles James Lewis of Crisfield and McKensie Lewis of Marion Station; one brother-in-law, Marion H. Moody of Dayton, Ohio; one niece, Shirley Hampton of Dayton, Ohio; and two nephews, M.H. "Hal" Moody, Jr. of Dayton, Ohio and Robert Moody of Georgia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Rae Walston Mason who died November 20, 1962; and two sisters, Shirley Moody and Alice Mae Mason.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Church of God where friends may call one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Philip Morris will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
