Patty J. Black, 64, of Crisfield, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Houston, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Elmer James Black of Crisfield and the late Sue Jean Martin Black who died in 2005.
She worked at Mrs. Paul's Kitchen in Crisfield until their closing, then worked at Handy's in Crisfield for 18 years until she fell ill earlier this year. She was a former member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Patty enjoyed being at home taking care of her father and her brothers. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and read.
She is survived by her father, Elmer J. Black of Crisfield; three brothers, James "Toby" Black and his wife Virginia, Ronald Black, and Rex Black, all of Crisfield; two nieces, Tyra Black of Crisfield and Sarah Black of Milford, DE; her cousin and special friend, Linda Mister of Crisfield; the Martin Family in Crisfield; and many relatives in the Houston, Mississippi area.
Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by a special uncle, Edward Austin Martin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Lebron Palmer will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
