PATSY MILBOURNE STERLING, 79, of Crisfield, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield May 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late W. Wesley and Helen Mister Riggin. Her first husband, Jack E. Milbourne, died March 10, 1988, and her second husband, Stanley C. Sterling, died December 12, 2003.
A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1948, she worked as secretary for Dr. Roberts in Crisfield for many years, and later, retired from Rubberset Corporation in Crisfield where she worked as an accounts secretary.
She was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Crisfield where she enjoyed helping with the Food Pantry, and was a member of the Womens Civic Club. She enjoyed playing in several Bridge Clubs, and spending time with the "Golden Girl's". She loved working in her yard, and she loved clothes. She always took pride in how she dressed.
She is survived by two children, Mark Wesley Milbourne of Crisfield and Susan Kim Martin and her husband James E. Martin of Marion Station; her step-daughter, Betsy Merklein and her husband Jack of Manassas, Virginia; two grandchildren, Paige and Casey Milbourne of Crisfield; her nephew, Jimmy Lee Howard and his wife Gloria of Salisbury; her sister-in-law, Joyce Ward and her husband Calvin of Crisfield; her pet cat, "Muddy"; and several cousins.
Along with her parents and her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis E. "Denny" Milbourne in 1999; her brothers, Wes Riggin and Otis Riggin; and her sister, Agnes Howard.
A memorial service officiated by The Rev. G. Kim Gilson will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Urn interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the interment at the Immanuel U.M. Church Fellowship Hall.
