Obituary

On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, Patricia Mary Stern, 64, of Crisfield, earned her promotion to begin her work for her Lord and Savior. She rose to join her beloved son Jarvis and family in heaven for a long awaited hug. Everyone who knew her will tell you she died of a broken heart at the loss of her son; she had been dying to be reunited with him ever since his death. We can all take comfort in knowing they are in each others arms laughing and talking silliness for eternity.

Her proudest achievements in life were being married to "one of the nicest gentlemen", her Richard; she adored her three children, Marc, Heidi and Jarvis; her face would light up when she spoke of her grandchildren Kearstin, Kandise, Austin and Aaron; and when she became a great grandparent to Aubrey and Eli "IE", her life seemed complete. They were the breath she took!

Born in Baltimore on May 13, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Pistorio Maszczenski. She graduated from Villa Julie with a degree in accounting, and later from Union Memorial Nursing School with honors in nursing. She was a retired registered nurse.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover, American Legion, Elks Lodge #1044, and Women of the Lower Eastern Shore Moose. She lived her life constantly helping others, especially the poor. She was devoted to many food programs including Meals on Wheels and the Seton Center, and was known by many as the "food lady". She also called BINGO at the MAC Center in Pocomoke.

A wonderful wife, mother, "Nana" and "Mimi", she is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard A. Stern, of Crisfield who states "Pat leaves joyously to God's home with half my heart and all my love"; her son, Marc Stern of Marion; her daughter, Heidi Williams of Crisfield; two sisters, Darlene Brown and Rose Marie Lady of Gettysburg, PA; four grandchildren, Kearstin Humphreys and husband Jordy, Kandise Norris, Austin Phillips, and Aaron Gaskins; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Eli Humphreys; her best friend, Christina Tucciaronne of Princess Anne; and many nieces, nephews and friends that she adored.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jarvis in 2006; and a sister, Theresa Dyer.

Friends may call Friday from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover.

Donations in her memory may be sent to Joseph House, 816 Boundary St., Salisbury, MD 21801.
