Obituary
Pamela Ann McCready, 69, of Crisfield, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at her home.
Born in Crisfield May 10, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Richard Benjamin McCready who died in 1974 and Hilda E. Barnes McCready who died in 2011.
A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1964, she obtained a B.A. Degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of MD Eastern Shore and obtained an A.A. Degree in Nursing from Wor-Wic Community College. She was a retired nurse.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marion, Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Auxiliary, Charter Member of Crisfield Lioness-Lions, Past Worthy Matron of the former Chesapeake Chapter #28 Order of the Eastern Star, and former officer of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044. She also served in the US Peace Corps teaching English to Koreans.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara S. Ward and husband Edison of Hertford, NC; aunt and uncle, Kathryn Barnes Purnell and William E. Purnell of Salisbury; a niece, Amanda Beth Stevens of Greenville, NC; many cousins; and a host of friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Olin McCready; and a niece, Melanie Barnes Stevens.
A memorial service officiated by Father Mike Lokey at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Eastern Star and Elks Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1 PM. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. An urn interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, c/o Martin Atkins, 26417 Silver Lane; or Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406; both Crisfield, MD 21817.
