Obituary

Norman Edward Hicks of Marion Station for more than 20 years and formerly of Baltimore, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2025.  He was 100 years of age.

Born in Baltimore on September 10, 1925, he was a son of the late William Hicks and June Lithian Hicks. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Samonas and his second wife, Sue Hicks.

Mr. Hicks was a United States Navy World War II veteran and was a maintenance worker at the Fair Lanes Bowling Alleys in Brooklyn, MD and the former East Point Mall, where he worked until his retirement.

A member of the VFW in Salisbury, in his spare time he loved to dance, bowl, and fish.

He is survived by his children, William Hicks of Marion, Herman Hicks/Regina of Dundalk, MD and Eddie Hicks/Donna of Hollandtown, MD; grandchildren, Christine Elliott, Nicholas Parr, Jennifer Comi, Sarah Hicks, Bobby Cook, Stephanie Lemaster, Michelle Claycomb, Jessica Knight, and Danyelle Lates; great-grandchildren, Amber Elliott, Taylor Graham, Kayla Elliott, Ryan Elliott, Corey Elliott, Kirsten Elliott, David Elliott, Jr., Alicia Elliott, Liam Jones, Marissa, Chasity, Jaila, Gianna, Cinzia, Giovanni, Stella, Olivia, Kayden, Brett Claycomb, Jack Knight, Carlea Wagner, Tyler Prince, Holly Mullins, Anthony Bragg, Tracie Bragg, Erin Langley, Kyrie Bragg, Seth Bragg, Jacob Lemaster, Jessie Dudley, Robert Cook, III, Alan "AJ" Bedell, Crystal Bedell, Jazmin Cook and Kelly Dudley; many great-great-grandchildren including special great-great-grandchildren, Jordynn, Sylas, and Kansas; granddaughter-in-law, Heather Elliott of Baltimore; and his caregivers, Tamia Barkley, Carolyn Hawkins, Charmaine Ross, and Chantel Henderson.

Along with his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by his children, Baby Hicks, Norman Hicks, Jr., Sandy Cook, and Veronica "Ronnie" Hicks; grandchildren, JR Elliott and David Elliott; and daughter-in-law, Maxine Hicks.

A funeral service will be Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be from 1-2 PM.  Interment with military honors will be Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 10:45 AM at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
