NORMA L. MADDRIX, 68, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.
Born in Federalsburg, Maryland on January 24, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Clifton S. Mister and Hazel F. Moore Mister. Her husband, Lake S. Maddrix, Jr., preceded her in death February 29, 1988.
A 1961 graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a former dispatcher for the Crisfield Police Department. She thoroughly enjoyed her job and loved all the police officers. She made sure they always had a snack nearby. She was also a great supporter of all emergency services.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield. She was an avid New York Yankees fan, and loved Crisfield sports as well. She loved flowers, wind chimes, sitting on her front porch, and gambling with her "Gambling Girls". But most of all, her pride and joy was caring for her grandson, Johnathon, whom she affectionately called "The Boy" and he affectionately called her "Guma".
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Morgan and her husband Brent of Marion and Amy Gonzales and her husband Tim of Salisbury; a grandson, Johnathon Morgan of Marion; two sisters, Barbara Reese and her husband Dickie of Crisfield and Myrtle Butler of Altus, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank R. Mister, Clifton S. "Cliff" Mister, Jr., and Norman J. Mister.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
