Norma Phyllis Ford, 88, of Fairmount, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2022 from TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born in Fairmount on January 24, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James Hewitt Ford, Jr. and Irma Wilson Hurley Ford.  Her husband of 64 years, Nolan T. Ford, Sr., preceded her in death on January 24, 2021.

A graduate of Washington High School, she was a teachers aid at the former Westover Elementary School for many years.

She loved going to church and over the years attended Fairmount U. M. Church, Walker Memorial Church of God, Pocomoke Church of God, and Liberty Rock Church.  She was a history buff and working on family genealogy was a favorite pastime.  She also enjoyed attending the coffee club at McDonald's.

She is survived by three sons, Nolan T. Ford, Jr. (Peggy) of Tennessee, Bruce A. Ford (Kimberly) of Salisbury, and Kelvin B. Ford (Carol) of Marion; eight grandchildren, Freedom Ford, Chad Dowdle (Jovie), Jennifer Ford, Katelyn Ford, Morgan Ford, Lindsay Ford, Kelvin B. Ford, Jr., and Kristy Revell (Andy); ten great-grandchildren, Damion Ford, Christian Ford, Morgan Stiegler, Zachary Ford, Dylan Ford, Hana Dowdle, Caz Dowdle, Anthony Carroll, Haley Revell, and Sydney Lurray; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, John Hewitt Ford on July 12, 1959; a brother, James Hewitt Ford; two sisters, Peggy Holland and Doris Evans; and a grandchild, Shelby Lynn Ford.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2 PM at Restored Souls Ministries in Westover.
