"Betty" Tull
February 20, 1931 – June 17, 2022
Nola Elizabeth "Betty" Tull, 91, of Marion Station, died Friday, June 17, 2022 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Marion Station on February 20, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Russell G. Johnson, Jr. and Nellie Nelson Johnson. Her husband, of 52 years, William F. "Bill" Tull, died September 16, 2002.
Over the years Betty worked at Little Jimmy's, helped build airplanes at Glenn L. Martin in Baltimore during the war, W. T. Grant Company, and later retired from the Crisfield Cable Office. She also helped her husband on the family produce farm. She attended Crisfield Wesleyan Church.
Betty was a talented crafter who enjoyed painting and sewing, and loved working in her yard gardening and cutting grass. She also liked puzzles and loved cooking for family gatherings.
She is survived by two sons, William F. "Fred" Tull, Jr. and wife Tammy and John J. Tull and wife Bunk; three grandchildren, Kristy Tull Dize and husband Nick, John Townsend and wife Kelly, and Jennifer Greene and partner David Lee; great-grandchildren, Dylan Townsend, J.D. Townsend, Mariah Townsend, Bryson Townsend, Dustin Townsend, and Owen Greene; step-great-grandson, Colin Dize; sisters and brother, Dorothy Jones, Russell "Junie" Johnson, Jr., Jenny Jennings, and Bonnie Tyler and husband Billy C.; a special niece whom she thought of as a daughter, Robin Ryan; sister-in-law, Jan Tull; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Edwin "Buster" Johnson and James "Jimmy" Johnson.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Rev. Stephen S. Willing will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406; or Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway; both Crisfield, MD 21817.
