Nicholas Thomas Evans, 90, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Nicholas Evans was born in Crisfield on May 11, 1935, the son of Nicholas Cornelius and Winnie Evans.

A 1953 graduate of Crisfield High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in 1958 and served in the Army National Guard..

He spent more than sixty years as a Certified Public Accountant with Webster, Evans, and Tyler in Salisbury before retiring. He was a faithful member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Crisfield and belonged to the Optimist Club of Salisbury and the American Institute of CPAs.

Nick loved the outdoors, especially boating, fishing, and golf, and he was a devoted college football fan who pulled for both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Maryland Terrapins.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Marino Evans of Salisbury; his children, Krista Evans (Mikschal Johanison) of Annapolis, Clark Lankford (Tammy) of Seaford, Delaware, and Sean Evans (Theresa) of Delmar, Maryland; his grandchildren, John David Lankford, Katerina Prostredny, Michaela Prostredny, Benjamin Strouth, Isabella Evans, Lincoln Strouth, and Eliza Evans; his great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Lankford; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eileen Evans.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield, with Rev. Jim Riley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o Bob Bradshaw, 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
