NELLIE THOMAS, 100, of Crisfield, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born in Snow Hill, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Hill Johnson. Her first husband, Samuel Washington Elliott, and her second husband, Harvey Thomas, preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a retired seafood worker.

A member of the Crisfield Church of God, she gave her life to the Lord at the young age of six. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening.

She is survived by three children, Gladys M. Adkins of Crisfield, Gloria McBride of North Carolina and James Elliott of Crisfield; five grandchildren, Debbie Whittington, Chippy Jones, Janice Frock, Russell Howard, and Pamela Sarbasse; nine great-grandchildren, Chuck Nelson, Samuel Jones, Debbie Dennis, Lisa Sterling, Ernie Jones, Shane Jones, Jacob Howard, Raina Sarbasse, and Lacey Sarbasse; five great-great-grandchildren, Pal Somers, Brian Somers, Noah Nelson, Dusty Jones and Tabby Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Washington Elliott, Jr.; and two sisters, Ella Holland and Leona Johnson.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 2 PM at Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home. There will be a procession to the graveside.
