Obituary

Naomi Raye Lankford, 96, of Crisfield, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in McAlester, Oklahoma on March 31, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frank Myron Hill and Alma Mae Brewster Hill.  She had been making her home here since 1960. Her husband, William Hance Lankford, preceded her in death May 5, 1997.

"Nonnie" as she was affectionately known, was a US Army Veteran of WWII.  She was a retired sales clerk at Sears, and was also a retired inspector at Rubberset Corp. Throughout her life, she also worked as a Cosmetologist, Pastry Chef, and was an Avon lady.

A member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, she enjoyed gardening, canning, reading medical articles and recipes, swimming, and traveling.  Most of all, she was a wonderful mother who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dema Rae Lankford of Crisfield, Donna Christine Lankford of Billings, OK, Pam Hutchinson and husband T.G. of Princess Anne, MD, and William "Buzz" Lankford and wife Joanne of Marion Station; brother, Jim Hill of Owasso, OK; sister, Laura Blanche Kidd of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Beth McCullough and husband Scott, Todd Lankford and wife Dawn, Wendy Nelson and husband Tom, and Kelly Johnson and husband Alan; great-grandchildren, Sam Disharoon, Will Disharoon, Nicholas Johnson, Allyson McCullough, Clair McCullough, Logan Lankford, Clinton Lankford, and Griffin Lankford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Frankie Marie Farrington, Dan Hill, and Kenneth Hill.

Funeral services will be held at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1 PM where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.  The Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate.  Interment will follow at the American Legion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
