Nancy Larson Rimby

Nancy Larson Rimby, 72, of Marion Station and formerly of Crisfield, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026 at her home.

Born in Chester, PA on April 16, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Aileen Roberts Larson. Her husband of 29 years, Dr. George E. Rimby, whom she adored, preceded her in death on May 22, 2013. She was secretary for many years of his Optometry practice.

Devoted to the care of animals, especially cats, she was an advocate for the spaying and neutering of the cats in the community of Crisfield and surrounding areas. She founded several organizations to help accomplish her mission including the Humane Society of Somerset County, MD 25 years ago, and SASI Spay-A-Stray. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield where she sang in the choir.

She enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, owning a shop at one time as well as having a booth at the Rusty Rooster Antique Mall. She also enjoyed gardening, and boating with her husband.

She will be remembered for her sweet, kind, and giving spirit, and for her wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by a sister, Betsy Nicholls of PA; a brother, Alan Larson of PA; her local nieces and nephews, Karen Wissman of Marion Station, and Tina Wissman, Joshua Baker, Jaden Baker, Justin Baker and Jacob Baker, all of Crisfield. Several other nieces and nephews also survive her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Larson; and a brother, Alan Larson.

Urn interment next to her husband will be held at a later date in Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery in Trappe, PA.
