Obituary
NANCY PURNELL COX, 79, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Born in Crisfield August 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Weldon "Kid" Purnell and Eva Riggin Purnell Milbourne.
Her husband, Arthur Thomas Cox, Jr. died August 9, 1987.
A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a retired Clerk-Treasurer for The City of Crisfield.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crisfield and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Sterling of Crisfield; and her granddaughter, Lindsay Beth Sterling of Richmond, Virginia.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Thomas Cox on June 5, 1966; and a step-brother.
Graveside services and interment will be held Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, Maryland 21817.
