Mildred L. McNamara, 99, of Crisfield, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born on Tylerton, Smith Island February 6, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Coley and Ina Mae Smith Evans.

A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was administrative assistant for the former His Nibs Clothing Factory and H. Glenwood Evans and Son Seafood.

She was a faithful member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was active in the UMW, served on the Administrative Board, and was secretary for many years. She also enjoyed volunteering at Tawes Nursing Home. She liked to play the organ and piano, and loved spending time with her family. She was a caretaker for them all.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Edward McNamara of Crisfield; her sister, Edith Warfield and husband Bill of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Shannon Banks and husband Mark and their family of Florida; a special cousin, Helen Wilson and husband Reggie and their family of Crisfield; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Morgan in 1987; and three brothers, Woodland Evans, Roger Evans, and George Evans.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Bill S. Wilson will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Crisfield Cemetery.
