Michael James DeVito, 66, of Annapolis, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Born in Trenton, Michigan, on February 3, 1960, he was the son of the late Albert Dominick "Dino" DeVito and Wanita Ann "Nina" Allagreen DeVito.

Mike was a 1978 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio, where he was a decorated member of the Amherst Comets baseball team. An outstanding outfielder, he set numerous records throughout his baseball career and was recognized for his athletic talent and dedication to the game.

Following graduation, Mike put his strong work ethic and natural abilities to use in a variety of occupations, including plumbing and manufacturing in a spring factory. He later earned his Master Electrician license and spent many years working for Landmark Electric, based in Texas.

Known for his remarkable mechanical skills, Mike could fix just about anything. He loved working with his hands, tinkering on projects, and solving problems. Although he enjoyed all sports, golf was his greatest passion, and he treasured the many tee times he shared with friends. He was also an accomplished bowler, proudly achieving the rare feat of a perfect 300 game. Mike loved to travel and attend concerts, and music was one of his greatest joys of his life. A talented musician, he enjoyed playing the trumpet, keyboards, guitar, bongos, and drums. He also enjoyed motorcycles and fishing-even though he was prone to motion sickness on the water.

Above all else, Mike cherished his family and friends. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his beloved wife, children, and the many close friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lisa Maria DeVito of Annapolis; four children, Olivia Marie Landon (Louis Allen Hickman, III) of Marion Station, John Dominic Mori, Jr. of Annapolis, Rhett Alexander Mori (Chloe Freeh) of Annapolis, and MaKenzie Paige Mori (Zachary Wilson) Annapolis; four grandchildren, Louis Allen Hickman, IV (Alyssa), Layla Hickman, Adrianna Handy, and Jonathon Handy, all of Marion Station; a brother, Craig DeVito (Chastity) of Richmond, TX; a sister, Tina Lucido (David) of Youngstown, OH; nieces and nephews, Nicole and Mark Floro and their daughter Brooke and Heather and Chase Ramsey and their son Bennett, all of Ohio; many very special friends; his canine fur babies, Rocket, Jax, Autumn, Reno, Willow, Daisy Doodle, Tinley Lou, and Gucci; and his feline fur babies, Bojangle, Tatiana, Sam, Bella, Bootsie, and Henry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Beatrice Joyce "Bea Jo" and Jerry R. Lawson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 1 PM at Living Hope Church of God, 27331 Crisfield Marion Road, Marion Station, MD 21838. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
