Merry "Yvonne" Lawson, 83, of Marion Station, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Born in Crisfield on December 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lori Thomas Johnson, Jr. and Lettie Pearl Nelson Johnson.  Her husband of 56 years, Wayne Grant "Hon" Lawson, preceded her in death on October 5, 2016.

She was an environmental technician for the State of Maryland.  Active in her community, her church memberships included Mariners United Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church of Crisfield.  She was past president of the Ladies of the Elks and was past president and secretary of the former Crisfield Soroptomist Club.

Affectionately known as "Nanny", she is survived by two children, Leslie A. Wilson (Lee) of Marion and Michael G. Lawson (Lisa) of Crisfield; her brother, Lori T. Johnson, III (Tommy) of Ocean Pines; her granddaughter, Charlotte Wilson (Brandon) of Pensacola, FL; a special granddaughter-in-love, Keisha Cooper of Marion; her great-grandchildren, Emma Wilson, Elijah Lee "Eli" Wilson, IV, and Abel Grant Levi Wilson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special Aunt Florence May Horsey of Marion.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Elijah Lee "Trey" Wilson, III on July 10, 2023.

The family would like to thank Lara Parkinson, Robin Hancock, and Tammy Thomas for the excellent, loving, 24 hour care they provided Yvonne.

Yvonne lovingly donated her body to science.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2 PM at the American Legion Post# 16 in Crisfield.  Urn interment at a later date will be private in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
