MERLYN BRITTINGHAM SHAW, 64, of Crisfield for the past 18 years, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at her home.
Born in Dover, DE on July 4, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Inez Thews Brittingham.
She was a medical assistant at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.
She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she was active in Circle #1, and was also a member of the Women's Civic Club, both in Crisfield. She enjoyed cooking and she loved her dog "Dixie".
She is survived by her husband, William Wilson of Crisfield; two sons, Steve and John Brittingham of Virginia; three step-sons, Billy, Michael and Chris Wilson, all of Bethesda, MD; one brother, Michael Brittingham of Virginia; two grandchildren, Daniel and Benjamin Brittingham; and eight step-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in Purdy, Virginia. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 at Echols Funeral Home in Emporia, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory are requested to be sent to Immanuel U. M. Church, c/o Robert H. Bradshaw, Jr., 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
