Mary Elizabeth Wilson Scott, 90, of Salisbury, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia. She had been making her home with her daughter in Manassas, Virginia for the past four years.
Born in Crisfield July 30, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Jesse T. Wilson, Sr. and Lillie Marie Elliott Wilson. Her husband, Harold S. Scott, Sr., preceded her in death January 27, 1987.
Mrs. Scott was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, who kept her home immaculate and had a great work ethic. She worked 27 years at K&L Microwave and also helped in her husband's upholstery shop. She loved flowers, working in her yard, cooking, decorating, sewing, and especially spending time with her family. She was known for her wisdom and her kind, gracious and gentle soul.
She is survived by her daughters, Dixie D. Ruark and husband Robert of Fruitland and Vickie Lynn Scott of Manassas; Richard Bernstein of Oxford, MD who was like a son to her; five grandchildren, J.D. Core, Steve Core, Lee Ruark, Kasey Scott, and Caitlin Scott; a brother, James W. Wilson of Puerto Rico; a sister, Norma Lee Carman of Crisfield; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her beloved pet dachshund, "Trevor".
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold S. Scott, Jr. on April 7, 2010; and her brothers and sisters, Reginald E. Wilson, Sr., Marie Keim, Cecelia Stanley Gotchall, Jesse T. Wilson, Jr., Rudolph G. Wilson, and Jerry Lawson.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 3 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. The Rev. Ruth Chamberlain will officiate. Interment will be Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1 PM at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
