MARY VIRGINIA SWIFT, 76, of Crisfield, died Monday, November 13, 2006 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield on February 6, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Preston and Emma Nora Trader Hinman.

A homemaker, she was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Auxiliary, both in Crisfield. She enjoyed gardening, BINGO and jigsaw puzzles.

A very devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald Lee Swift of Crisfield; her son. Ronnie Swift of Crisfield; one sister, Lois Matthews and her husband Jimmy, Sr. of Crisfield; three brothers, Bobby Hinman and his wife Nellie and Billy Hinman and his wife Diane, all of Crisfield, and Donnie Hinman and his wife Pat of Satellite Beach, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Ward; and three brothers, Harold Hinman, Sammy Hinman and Dickie Hinman.

A graveside funeral service and interment will be held Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11 AM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. The Rev. Jim Riley, Sr. and The Rev. Steve Willing will officiate. There will be no public viewing.
