Obituary

Mary Elizabeth "Susie" Rainbolt, 74, of Crisfield, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home.

She was born in Peyton, Colorado on May 1, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Clyde King Rainbolt and Phyllis Jean Maus Rainbolt.

A 1968 graduate of Peyton High School, she was a scan analyst at Food Lion in Princess Anne and Crisfield, retiring after more than 30 years.

She enjoyed crocheting and collecting elephant trinkets.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and she adored her grandkids.

She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Powell and husband Matthew of Marion Station, MD; a son, Kevin Sparrow of Newark, DE; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Leese Sparrow of Newark, DE; four grandchildren, Benjamin Chaffey Powell, Wyatt Tyler Powell, Avalon Jean Sparrow, and Gillian Marie Sparrow; a brother, Howard Rainbolt and wife Lynda of Grand Rapids, Michigan and their daughters, Lara Rainbolt-Rienks and Kendra Long Rainbolt; and a brother, Dale Rainbolt of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his children, Shelley Rust, Erik Rainbolt, and Shawn Rainbolt.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the CNA's, LPN's, RN's and the entire staff of Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home for their love and care shown to Susie during her residency there.

Per her request there will be no services, however contributions in her memory may be made to Tawes Nursing Home Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817; or St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 245, Marion Station, MD 21838.
