MARY ANN STERLING, 80, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne where she had been a resident for four years.
Born in Virginia on June 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Pete and Lena Poulson Purcell. Her husband, William E. "Tucker" Sterling died December 15, 1993.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Wesleyan Church in Crisfield. She also formerly taught nursery school in Baltimore as well as the Crisfield Christian Academy.
She is survived by four children, Linda Everhart and husband Steve of Laurel, Delaware, Nancy Sterling Davis and husband Bill of Woodbine, Maryland, Mary Ann Webb of Crisfield and Billy Sterling and wife Barbara of Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Sterling of Willards; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Sterling; two brothers, Edward and Richard Purcell; and a sister, Dorothy Wilson.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2 PM at Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Friends may call at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM.
