Obituary

MARY JO ROBIN, 68, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at her home.

Born in Crisfield on December 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Milford and Iantha Nelson Thornton.

A graduate of Crisfield High School's class of 1956 and a United States Navy veteran, she was executive director of the Crisfield Housing Authority from which she retired after 25 years.

In 1970, Mary Jo converted to Orthodox Judaism, and lived in Israel for five years. She enjoyed being outside, especially gardening, walking and bike riding. She had a great love for her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Allan Robin of Crisfield; three children, Marjorie Fleetwood and her husband Jim of Phoenix, Arizona, Lillian Steel and her husband Ted of Front Royal, Virginia, and Karen Raimundo and her husband Aubrey Fletcher of Marion Station; one sister, Jean Ann Yoder of Westover; two grandsons, Timmy Raimundo of Marion Station and Sean Schultz of Front Royal, Virginia; one great-granddaughter, Niah Schultz of Front Royal, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milford Thornton, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 3 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Rabbi Richard White will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held in Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield.
