MARY MATTHEWS GOLDSBOROUGH, 98, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield July 25, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Elmer C. and Sadie Schweitzer Matthews. Her husband, John G. Goldsborough, preceded her in death March 12, 1977.

A homemaker, Mrs. Goldsborough was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Crisfield. She was a devoted Sunday School Teacher, G.A.'s Leader, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and was active in the WMU and Soup Ministry. She also enjoyed all crafts and hand work including knitting, crocheting and ceramics.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Myrna Humphreys of Crisfield, with whom she made her home for the past six years; her grandchildren, Jed Humphreys and wife Annette of Marion Station, David Humphreys and wife Jennifer of Crisfield, Jennifer Barone of Hebron and Debbie Tyler of Crisfield; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Joshua and Jaime Humphreys, and Hunter Barone; a daughter-in-law, Otti Goldsborough of Copperas Cove, Texas; and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Elmer "Jackie" Goldsborough on March 21, 1997; her son-in-law, E. Franklin Humphreys on August 8, 2008; and her sisters and brother, Doris Coefield, Sadie Bard, Elva Parks and Clifton Matthews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Jack "Tad" Maroon will officiate. Interment will follow in Crisfield Cemetery.
