Mary Cecilia "Ceecee" Hancock, 68, of Crisfield, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Born on October 15, 1956, in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Arza and Peggy Evans Owens. A proud graduate of Crisfield High School's Class of 1974, Ceecee's life was defined by love, hard work and compassion.

She spent her early years in Raleigh, North Carolina, working as a daycare provider and co-owning a limousine service with her former husband, the late Larry "Lawrence" E. Hancock, Jr. After returning to Crisfield, she worked in the commercial crabbing industry alongside her late companion, John J. "Bread" Papa, and later as a bartender at several local restaurants. She also worked at Price Buick Pontiac GMC with her brother and eventually served as a medical assistant in home health care before retiring.

Ceecee had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs: Bean, Cam, Fluffy, JoJo, Lily, Lou-Lou, and Sissy, She was known for her kind heart, and the unwavering support she gave to her friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Michael Steven Hancock of Indianapolis, IN, and Carla Marie Hatten and husband Andrew of Charlotte, NC; her grandsons, Logan and Luke Hatten; her companion, Joseph White of Crisfield, and his daughter Christina Tapia of Santa Fe, NM; her sister, Pam Zywczynski (the late Lawrence "Ski" Zywczynski) of Lancaster, NY; her brother, Arzie Owens and wife Lisa of Greenville, SC; her nieces and nephews, June Pszczolkowski, Lyndsey Reager, Chad Owens, and Katie Crosby, along with their families; several cousins; and many treasured friends.

One of Ceecee's favorite sayings was, "Jesus, take the wheel," a phrase she often used to express her faith and trust in God's guidance through life's journey.

A private family ceremony to scatter her ashes will be held in the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
