MARY ELLEN CULLEN MADDRIX, 70, of Marion Station, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield on June 19, 1941, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Carter Garrison.

She was a homemaker and also worked at the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchen in Crisfield.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Crisfield. An animal lover, she loved all her pets and especially cats.

She is survived by her husband of almost 17 years, Elwood F. Maddrix of Marion Station and served as his devoted caregiver for many years; her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Carolyn Cullen of Crisfield; three step-children, Billy Maddrix and his wife Irene of Mandeville, LA, Joyce Ann Maddrix of Delaware and Donna Lee Bogart of Indiana; her sister, Barbara Shores and her husband Billy of Eden; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Bell Cullen, Jr., who died tragically on August 28, 1969.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
