MARY ELIZABETH DASHIELL CAREY, 64, of Crisfield, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.

She was born December 4, 1946 in Middle River and was raised in Kingston. She was a daughter of the late Alfred Turpin Dashiell and Ruth Lurline Wilson Dashiell.

She attended Marion High School and enjoyed reading and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Robert Vance Carey of Crisfield; a granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Carey; a brother, Alfred Thomas Dashiell and his wife Sharon of Hernando, Mississippi; a sister, Suzanne Ford and her husband Donald of Marion; her former husband, John Cleveland Carey of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Cleveland Carey on August 11, 1990.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11 AM at the gravesite of her son in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817.
