Mary Bell Adams, 102, of Rehobeth, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born April 18, 1920 in Shelltown, but lived in Rehobeth for over 80 years, she was a daughter of the late Sidney C. Bell and Elizabeth E. Lewis Bell.
She was bookkeeper for Eagle Mills for over 30 years and the U.S. Welcome Center in Pocomoke City, MD for 10 years.
A member of the Rehobeth Methodist Church, she loved working in her yard, which she kept perfectly manicured, and enjoyed decorating for all the seasons. She also loved reading, cross word puzzles, dancing, music and singing. Above all, her family was her joy, always giving and helping when she could.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie L. Tawes and husband Bobby of Crisfield; grandson, Greg Tawes and wife Jessy of Berlin, MD; granddaughter, Lori Riggin and husband Adam of Crisfield; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Tawes and Luke Tawes, and Kennedy Riggin and Autumn Riggin; a close special niece and nephew, Joe Dryden and Joyce Johnson; a great-nephew, Jim Nelson; and several other nieces and nephews. While in the Nursing Home, she so enjoyed the friendship and kindness of Phil Widdowson, Charlene Marshall, Una Davies, Ruth Evans, and Mid Tyler.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers, Dorothy Dryden, Lewis Bell, Preston Bell, William Bell, Ralph Bell, Benny Bell and Howard Bell; and a close cousin, Lillian Jones.
A graveside funeral service officiated by Rev. Stephen S. Willing will be Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 2 PM at Rehoboth Presbyterian Cemetery.
