Marian Cecil Crockett, 79, of Tangier Island, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her daughter's home.

Born on Tangier Island February 5, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Dise Pruitt. Her husband, William Thomas "Willie" Crockett, preceded her in death on January 13, 1981.

She was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church and also attended the New Testament Congregation.

She loved tending to her grandchildren, and having people in her home. She was a neighbor to everyone. She also enjoyed reading, writing letters, word puzzles and sewing.

She is survived by three children, Barbara Parks and husband Wayne, Richard Crockett, and Jennifer Marshall and husband Teddy, all of Tangier; daughter-in-law, Gina Crockett of Tangier; two brothers, Fred Pruitt and wife Eugenia of Tangier and Jim Pruitt and wife Darlene of Crisfield; three grandchildren, Travis and Devin Marshall and Mariah Crockett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Eugene and Jack Pruitt; two sisters, Docia Smarr and Mary Frances Crockett; and two grandsons, Anthony Wayne Parks and Sgt. Brandon Neil Parks.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2 PM at the New Testament Church. Duane Crockett and Eugenia Pruitt will be the speakers. A viewing will be Saturday evening from 7-9 at the church.

Interment will be in the New Testament Church Cemetery.
