Margaret Lee Riggin Parks, 93, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Crisfield November 14, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Clarence C. and Mildred Lucy Ward Riggin. Her husband, Robert W. "Puckers" Parks, died May 26, 2006.
A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1941, she worked at the former Tawes Ice Company, and was credit manager at the former Grant's from 1951 until her retirement in 1975. Following retirement, she worked at the former Richard Christy & Son Seafood for four years, and later in the billing office of McCready Hospital until 1987.
She was a faithful member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women, Circle #4, and served as president and Sunday School Teacher of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class. In her younger years she was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Crisfield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Margaret was a wonderful cook who loved cooking for family and loved ones. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing with and hosting her Pinochle Club.
She is survived by her son, Steven Lloyd Parks and wife Pat of Arnold, MD; her daughter, Lisa A. Lord and husband Rick of Crisfield; son-in-law, George M. Pearce and wife Jolene of Hebron; grandsons, Jon Robert Pearce of Westminster, Jason R. Pearce of Fruitland, Michael T. Parks of Annapolis, and Bryan B. Parks and wife Kristen of Gambrills, MD; great-grandchildren, Lucas James Pearce, Calvin Pearce, Addison Pearce, Bailey Ryane Pearce, Peyton Lorelei Pearce, Diorella Mendosa, and Bennett Parks; sisters, Barbara Stewart of Portland, CT, Janet Blades of Crisfield, and brother, Phil Riggin of Leesburg, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl P. Pearce in 2003; and sisters, Dolly Miller, Elestine Riggin, Dot Marshall, Frances Sterling, and Joy Dize.
Funeral services officiated by The Rev. Paul Holland will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
