Margaret Olivia McSheffry, 94, of Salisbury and formerly of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Newark, MD on February 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Peter Walter and Florence Maggie Jackson Donoway. Her husband of 44 years, Paul Leslie McSheffry preceded her in death in 1991.
Margaret was a graduate of Snow Hill High School and was a homemaker in her later years. In her younger years, she loved helping her Mom look after her five brothers with cooking, cleaning, and especially the sewing chores. As she grew older, she worked as a dental assistant, a seamstress, and a substitute teacher. She loved working with children. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Newark and St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
She was very talented with her hands and excelled at sewing, embroidery, and any type of arts and crafts. She had the best sense of humor, and her laugh was contagious. She loved her cat, Speedy, and her pet dog "Angel" who has crossed Rainbow Bridge.
She is survived by her sons, Tim McSheffry of Salisbury and Anthony James "Tony" McSheffry of Snow Hill; daughter, Bonnie Molitano of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Donoway.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence, Pete, Jerome, Paul, and Frank Donoway; a grandchild, Michael Molitano; and best friends, Lola Causey and Norma Lee Phillips.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newark, MD.
