MARGARET BRIDDELLE ENDLICH, 88, of Westover, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Marumsco on September 14, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edward Harrison Maddox and Maude Emerson Parks Maddox. Her husband, Karl H. Endlich, died May 25, 1997. Her first husband, Milton O. Briddelle, Sr. is also deceased.
A 1939 graduate of Marion High School, she was a homemaker and a secretary, working for Somerset MAC Center, Greenwood Garden Apartments, and the Somerset County Health Department.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Fairmount and Quindocqua United Methodist Church in Marion, where she was member of the former WSCS, member and past president of the UMW, and was church representative of the Peninsula Methodist Conference.
Mrs. Endlich served as past president of the McCready Hospital Senior Auxiliary Board, founding member and trustee of the Fairmount Academy Historical Association, member of the Somerset County Garden Club, BPW, Somerset County Historical Society, Somerset County Fair Board, and was past president of the Somerset County Council of Homemakers.
She also enjoyed hand making quilts and donating them to various organizations for fundraisers.
She is survived by a son, Karl H. Endlich, Jr. and his wife Gayle of Westover; a stepson, Milton O. Briddelle, Jr. of Marion; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death are a son, Edward H. Briddelle, Sr.; a daughter, Kitty Skorobatsch; and a sister, Emily Cathern Hill.
Graveside services will be private in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.
