Obituary

Mae H. Daugherty, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Crisfield, Maryland on August 2, 1926 to the late Mark and Madge Harrison. Her husband, Lewis E. Daugherty, preceded her in death in 1968.

Mae, who was affectionately known as "Granny", was a retired seamstress, and was most known for her work with Eddie Heath Crab Pots for which she was inducted into the Crisfield Waterman's Hall of Fame in 2011. She enjoyed her work with crab pots because it allowed her to be a stay at home mom and support her family which was very important to her.

Granny loved the Lord and was an active member of Somerset Free Methodist Church of which she was also a charter member. She was a loving, caring, giving person with a selfless soul who was willing to go without so that others could have. Her life was her family, and she cherished spending time together making precious memories. Christmas Eve gatherings with her family were some of her most favorite. She will be missed as the Matriarch of our family, but the rich legacy she has left behind will live forever in our hearts.

Granny is survived by her five children, Jeanne Schieferstein (Bob) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Lewis "Bub" Daugherty (Toni), Patricia "Sugar" Daugherty her loving caretaker, Becky Corbin (David) and Lou Drewer (Billy), all of Crisfield; grandchildren, Ozzie Hill (Tracey), Jody Neally (Charity), Randi Riggs (Michael), Michael Lambertson (Leslie), Joshua Lambertson (Morgan), Rebecca Taylor (Chuck), Jordan Corbin (Emily), Jesse Drewer, and Jenna Drewer; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including her BFF, the "Lucy to her Ethel", June Drewer.

Granny was preceded in death by six siblings, Beatrice Headley, James Harrison, William Harrison, Ben Harrison, Alan Harrison and Betty Eward; and two grandchildren, Lewis J. Daugherty and Jayme Neally.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2 PM at Somerset Free Methodist Church where a viewing will be one hour prior. Pastor Jim Evans will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Somerset Free Methodist Church, c/o Becky Corbin, 26739 Old State Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
