Lula Mae Dize, 90, of Crisfield, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield November 8, 1927, she was the oldest child of the late Oris and Wilma Webster Ford. Her husband of 49 years, Calvin R. "Cabby" Dize, Sr., preceded her in death October 8, 1995.

A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1944, she was a legal secretary working 33 years at the State of Maryland Office of the Public Defender in Princess Anne before her retirement.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was church secretary. Over the years she was also active in the Crisfield Lioness Club and the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Auxiliary.

Lula Mae was a beautiful person that lived an active life up until a few weeks prior to her passing. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being with her friends and playing cards with her Pinochle Club.

She is survived by her son, Calvin R. "Cabby" Dize, Jr. and wife Robin of Crisfield; two grandchildren, Kelly Dize Reese and husband Lance of Crisfield and Ryan Dize of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Ford, Sonny Ford, Jackie Ford, and Joan Lawson.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Olivia Costango will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant U. M. Church, 39 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
