Obituary

LUCILLE TYLER, 98, of Crisfield, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born on Tangier Island, she was a daughter of the late Asa and Cora Pruitt Crockett. Her husband, John "Nig" Tyler, preceded her in death.

She was a seamstress, working for several local sewing factories, and later retired from Carvel Hall Cutlery in Crisfield.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Crisfield where she sang in the choir and volunteered many years at the Opportunity Shop. She loved her family, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and sewing.

She is survived by a son, Gary Wroten and wife Joanne of New Jersey; a daughter-in-law, Barb Wroten Tyler, who was more like a daughter to her; grandchildren, Robin Josenhans and husband Kevin, Valerie Colona, Melanie Windsor, Dawn Coons and husband Trevor, Billy Wroten and wife Marjorie, and Brian Wroten and wife Kim; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wroten, Jr.; four sisters, Helen Evans, Polly Parks, Lorraine Landon, and Margie Charnick; and a brother, Vernon Crockett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406 or Crisfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 591, both Crisfield, MD 21817.
